With Halloween just around the corner, chances are you have been searching around for the perfect costume. If you are celebrating the growing season together with your plus one, it may be really fun to coordinate and discover couples costumes which are creative and unique.

To help, we've put together a lot of our top couples’ Halloween costumes for 2022. From superheroes to celebrities, fictional characters to reality stars, here are some of our favorites.

Daphne and Simon

Dreaming of wearing an attractive, Bridgerton-inspired gown but have nowhere to go? Then Halloween is the perfect excuse! Grab your partner and don your very best, early 1800’s apparel. From gorgeous gowns to three-piece suits, radical headpieces and complex updos – just be sure to do your hair in ringlets and wear your elegant elbow-length gloves!

Tiger King

If you ever wanted a good excuse to rock a mullet or exquisitely crimped hair, then the cast of Tiger King will probably be your best friend this year. Extremely popular in 2022 (but we have to have a do-over, ok?), Joe Exotic, Carole Baskin, or even a tiger is going to do the trick for your dynamic duo.

Squid Game

We possess a feeling teal tracksuits are going to be a little difficult to get this season, as everyone appears to be referring to (and watching) Squid Game on Netflix. The Korean drama is super popular at this time and makes for the perfect gender-neutral costume, too. On Etsy (or you can DIY) these polyester suits are replicas of the player's and are generally a super comfortable method to dress up this year.

JLo and Ben

They're back and than ever. Celebrate the reunion of a couple of Hollywood's mega stars by your best Jenny-from-the-block outfit (don't forget her signature hoops and slick, side-parted ponytail) and your partner dressing in an informal button down and jeans. Go the extra mile and carry some Dunkin Donuts just like Ben was at the viral paparazzi photo!

Keeley and Roy

It's been nearly annually since these Ted Lasso favorites came into our way of life and we fell deeply in love with Keely's signature high ponytail and Roy's rather gruff choice of language. We've seen their relationship grow and also have its ups and downs, and couldn't help but to cheer them on in the sidelines. If you have a bigger group, include Rebecca, Coach Lasso, Jamie, and more to represent the entire football-loving gang.

Sandy and Danny

You better shape up! The long-lasting couple from Grease is a classic, reliable costume that is really simple to construct. Odds are, you have all that's necessary inside your closet already! Whether you need to be sexy heels-and-a-cigarette Sandy or her shy, schoolgirl self, put your Danny in top to bottom black and slicked back hair and you will be good to go!

Romy and Michelle

Do blondes genuinely have more fun? Find out for yourselves with one of these fun and flirty pink and blue dresses (or something like that!) that Romy and Michele wore to their famed, long awaited high school reunion. Remember, if someone asks, you invented Post-Its.

Jack and Sally

Celebrate the very best of both worlds while paying homage to the cult-favorite couple in the Nightmare Before Christmas. Rock a pinstripe suit like the Pumpkin King himself, while your lover dresses in brightly colored patchwork dress topped having a cherry-red wig. If you're up for the challenge, add too much with some face makeup to actually nail the look.

Johnny and Baby

Have the time of your life (see what we should did there?) dressing as Johnny Castle and Frances “Baby” Houseman from Dirty Dancing. A tight muscle-tee and black jeans paired with an enjoyable and flirty dance dress is all you need to embody the feel of the bad-boy-meets-quiet-girl duo. Just remember, nobody puts baby inside a corner.

Peter Pan and Tinkerbell

Head to Neverland where you may never grow up, all acquire the best adorable and embracing your inner Disney fan. Don't forget some pixie dust to complete the appearance!

Donut and Coffee

Can you consider a much better pair? For a fun and festive theme, rock your preferred donut and occasional costumes (the more sprinkles, the greater!) Much like sweet and savory, you're meant to be together after all!

Mario and Luigi

Can't you simply hear the recording game theme song playing in the background? The 90s are back, in the end. With Super Mario Bros, the opportunities are endless for group costumes, too. Throw in a Princess Peach, Toad, Bowser, and/or Spike and roll-up dressed as the whole crew.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion

The rap duo-of the entire year is without a doubt Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. Hot off the incredible success of the hit single WAP, the happy couple rock sleek side-parted updos and matching pink and yellow bodysuits within the music video, which may be somewhat easily created at home with the best fabric and leotard combo.

Instagram vs. Reality

Filters are pretty, and FaceTune can come in handy sometimes, but we all know carefully curated Instagram photos don't really show our reality. Whether it's a look you have often seen that you tried (and failed) to recreate or you're poking fun at yourself for what you share versus what you keep close, doing an Instagram vs. Reality or Filter vs. No filter theme is really a fun and oh-so-timely method to celebrate Halloween.

The Joker and Harley Quinn

These two standouts from Suicide Squad create a fun costume set, especially for those who have a knack for makeup! While definitely not probably the most stable duo, their colorful outfits and dramatic, clown-meets-comic style makeup looks are a great way to get into the Halloween spirit.

Bob Ross and a Painting

Pay homage to everyone's favorite artist and of course, certainly one of his masterpieces with this creative couples costume. Whether you decide to go using the officially licensed costume or choose to DIY it up yourselves, you'll be the talk of the party. For added fun, make the painting portion of the costume yourselves! Maybe it's a really fun date night to paint a canvas you'll later wear. Bonuses should you paint along while watching Bob Ross!

Back to the Future

Take things back in time (literally and figuratively!) with these film inspired costumes from To the near future. Whether you go with a Marty McFly and Doc pairing or as Marty and Jennifer, “Great Scott!” – you can't fail!

We only recommend products we have independently researched, tested, and loved. If you buy an item found through our links, Sunday Edit may earn a joint venture partner commission.
